RULES AND REGULATIONS



  1. Online registration will be opened on the 29th December 2014 and the registration will be closed on the 28th February 2015.
  2. Online registration can be made here.
  3. Registration fee for each team is MYR 300.00 and payment must be made within a week after the online registration.

  5. Confirmation of payment must be emailed to wovec.engitex2015@gmail.com.
  6. All entries must be a group of four (4) students and one (1) advisor. Other than a group of four (4) students will be automatically disqualified.
  7. Only one entry per student is allowed.
  8. Participations are limited to the first 20 teams only.
  9. The invention must follow the theme of ENGITEX ’15 which is “Beyond limit” and also must be within the scope of Household Equipment or Campus needs.
  10. The aim of the product that you will produce is to create an alternative solution(s) to the real-time problems that we are facing now. These are the examples of problem statements within the scope given:
      i) How to save energy in campuses during the night?                                               ii) How to improvise the efficiency of water usage at home?                                             iii) How to improve security systems of an area without increasing man power?
  11. Participants are free to list down your own problem statement(s), provided that the invention also must follow the nature of this program; Novelty, Energy Saving, Cost-Effective, Society Needs and Marketability.
  12. Participants are compulsory to stay on campus as Mahallah(Hostels) will be provided.
  13. Foods will be provided for students and advisors for breakfast and lunch only.
  14. All correspondence must be in English.
  15. Advisors are not allowed to be directly involved in the design and the assembly processes, as well as during the presentation.
  16. All decisions made by the judges are final.
  17. By participating in the competition, participants have to acknowledge all the challenges terms and regulations.
  18. Participants need to arrive at Foyer 1, Cultural Activity Center (CAC), IIUM for registration on the 14th April 2015 (Tuesday) from 8.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.
  19. Participants must be punctual at all times and follow the instruction given by the committee members.
  20. Grievance : The competitor (griever) may appeal the decision of the head judges to the Grievance Committee by filling in a grievance form. Grievances must be written submitted by the griever to the operation centre from the beginning of the competition till 10 minutes after the competition ends. In this case, the Grievance Committee will be convened and make a final decision. All decisions made by the Grievance Committee are final.
